Everest Base Camp via Jiri is known as classic trek in Nepal. This route became famous after first ascend of Mt. Everest summit in 1953 by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa select this trajectory for Everest (8,848 m) expedition. The trail from Jiri to Everest Base Camp encounters green valleys and fertile hills to high altitude and Trekking through Khumbu glacier for the best climax at the base of the highest mountain on the earth. 22 days Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek starts driving from Kathmandu to Jiri and ready for first day trek. Classic trail leads you several villages such as Bhandara, Sete, Junbesi, Nunthala, Bupsa, Surke, Phakding, and capital of Sherpa Namchebazar. Next, the classic trail encounters other typical villages to reach Everest Base Camp. After visiting EBC and Kalapatthar we trek back to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. More Information
Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is the most concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food,Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food as they have to cater to more trekkers before they run off the stock. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.
Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea house you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will be better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.
Accommodations:
We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodges are fairly basic, some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blanket and little additional furniture. There will be large dining room where you can get the warm by Bukhara stove. In the tea house there will be the solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.
Things to take:
This is very active trip, we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get porter who will carry maximum 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry maximum 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous, passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we should have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problem such as lung, heart and other diseases it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa Treks before booking the trip.
Suitable Time to Trek:
For Trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but temperatures could be harsher for most trekkers.

Important Notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Arrived in Kathmandu valley (1,400 m).
Today upon your arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport our airport representative will receive and assist you to Hotel. After getting rest and refreshed you can visit Thamel market and local areas near you7r hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in UNESCO world heritage site.
Today Yarsa Treks provide you an experienced license holder tour guide to visit UNESCO world heritage site of Kathmandu valley. You will visit Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Darbar square. After visit drive back to hotel and prepare for tomorrow.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (1905 m).~ Drive for 5-6 hours
Today after breakfast your guide will receive you and drive to Jiri for 6 hours. During the drive we can see magnificent hilly region and lifestyle of mid Nepal. On the route you can see Bhote Koshi which is famous for rafting and you will be delighted with the scenery from Mude (2,433 m). Next, trail ascends from Tama Koshi to enter beautiful Jiri Valley. You can explore beauty of Jiri because Jiri is known as Switzerland of Nepal. After exploration of Jiri valley rest overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Trek from Jiri to Deurali (2,735 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today after breakfast we trek for 5-6 hours to reach Deurali. Trail goes descend and walk through rhododendron forest with the hide and seek view of mountains to the north. Trail leads you to Shivalaya at the river bank and climb to the Sangbadanda at 2,152 meter elevation; here we can get the majestic view of Gaurisankar, Everest and other small peaks. After crossin another steam you will climb to reach Deurali. Explore phenomenal view around and rest overnight.
Day 05: Trek from Deurali to Sete (2,645 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today early we will get the magnificent view from Deurali and walk for 6 hours to reach Sete. Trail descends for 2 hours until Bhandara. From Bhandara trail descend lower fields and follow small stream. Next, we walk through small villages and cross stream to reach another Sherpa village Kenjo (1569 m). Trail slowly ascends to Lamjure Pass and two hours climb lead us to Chimbu. Here you can get trail junction, take right and walk towards Sete. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 06: Trek from Sete to Junbesi (2,640 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today is one of the long day climb of this trek. Trail climb to Lamjura Pass at 3,529 meter. We will walk through rhododendron and brich forest with the long Himalaya ranges view. During the spring season this forest turns in to garden because of rhododendron bloom. The route descends from eastern side of the Pass to reach small wooden hotel. Next, trail climbs to Mani wall and reach Sherpa village Junibesi. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 07: Trek from Junbesi to Nunthala (2,440 m).~ 5-6 hours
Toay early we will visit Thubtenchholing monastery and continue our trail to Nunthala. Trail crosses wooden bridge and steeply climbs to Khurtang at 2,981 m with the first view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mera peak (6,461 m) and Themsherku (6,608 m). From Khurtang ridge trail descend to Ringmo Khola and ascend through Ringmo village to Taksindo La at 3,100 meter. Next, trail descends through Taksindo La monastery; which is perfect example of Sherpa architecture for monastery. After monastery trail descend and crosses several streams before reach Nunthala. Explore around and rest over night.
Day 08: Trek from Nunthala to Khari Khola (2,020 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today we walk for 5 hours to reach Khari Khola. Trail descends to reach Dudh Koshi (Milk River) and cross large suspension bridge. From Dudh Koshi valley trail encounters terraced field and reach Rai settlement Khari Khola. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 09: Trek from Kharo Khola to Pyau (2,700 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today we walk for 5-6 hours to reach Payau. Trail descends to Khari Khola and ascends to the Bupsa at 2,360 meter elevation. Next trail gently moves through forest; here you can see monkeys and different birds. From forest trail climbs to the ridge and pass Mani wall with the view of Khumbilla and Cho Oyu. Next, another climb to the cliff in the rock than another canyon of the ridge at 2,440 meter called Pyau. Pyau is Sherpa settlement surrounded by forest.
Day 10: Trek from Pyau to Phakding (2,640 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today we walk for 5-6 hours to reach Phakding. Trail descend to Pyau Khola and climb to small tributary next to Dudh Koshi at 2290 in Surkhe. Next, trail climbs and reach to EBC trail and follow the trail until Phakding valley. Explore green Phakding valley and rest overnight.
Day 11: Trek from Phakding to Namchebazar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today after breakfast we trek for 5-6 hours to reach Namchebazaar. Everest Base Camp trail moves through the gorge of the Dudh Koshi riverand pass several villages with the view of Ama Dablam, Themsherku, and other several peaks. Next you will reach Monjo; where your travel document will be checked before enter to the Sagarmatha national park. From Monjo you will ascend for 2 hours until Namchebazaaar.
Day 12: Acclimatization day in Namchebazaar.
Today we acclimatize and intimate with the altitude. Namchebazaar is touristic hub of Everest region, you can explore colorful market of Namchebazaar or you can hike above ridge of Namchebazaar for spectacular view of High Himalaya and valleys.
Day 13: Trek from Namchebazar to Tengboche (3,860 m).
Today we walk for 5 hours to reach Tengboche. Trail ascends to the ridge above the Namchebazaar and walk through terraced field with the view of Ama Dablam. Next, trail enters to the dense forest and descends to the Dudh Koshi River. Crossing Dudh Koshi River trail ascend through rhododendron forest to reach Tengboche. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 14: Trek from Tengboche to Pheriche (4,371 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today early we will visit Tengboche monastery with the majestic view of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lobuche peak, Cho Oyu and other several peaks. Trail moves through rhododendron forest and descend to Imjha river. After crossing Imjha river we pass Pangboche village and walk through Khumbu glacier to reach Pheriche. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 15: Trek from Pheriche to Lobuche(4,930 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today after breakfast we trek to Lobuche. Trail moves through the ridge with the stunning view of Twache and Cholatse. Next, trail pass grazing field and moves to the grave terminal; here you can see the grave of Scott Fisher and other Sherpa who died in 1996 by Everest disaster. On the way we can see towering view of Pumari, Khumbutse, Lingtren and other Mahalangur Himalaya range.
Day 16: Trek from Lobuche to Gorerkshep (5,180 m) and visit EBC (5,363 m).
Today is our most awaited day to visit Everest Base Camp. Trail passes windy and rocky path to reach Gorekshep and we move further to visit EBC. After visiting EBC we trek back to Gorekshep for overnight.
Day 17: Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545 m) and trek to Dingboche (4,410 m).~ 6 hours
Today early before dawn we will hike to the Kalapatthar for the phenomenal view of sunrise over majestic Himalaya. From Kalapatthar we can get the splendid view of Mt. Everest, after spectacular view we trek back to Dingboche via Lobuche. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 18: Trek from Dingboche to Khumjung (3,790 m). 5-6 hours
Today we walk to reach cultural Khumjung village. Trail crosses Khumbu glacier and reach Pangboche. Next trail descend and crosses Imjha River and reach Tengboche. After Tengboche we descend to Dudh koshi river and ascend to reach Khumjung village. Explore culture of Sherpa and rest overnight.
Day 19: Trek from Khumjung to Monjo (2,835 m).~ 3-4 hours
Today we walk for 3 hours to reach Monjo. Trail passes through Syangboche airport which is high altitude airport in the world. Trail descends from the ridge to Namchebazaar and again descends for 2 hours until we reach Monjo. Explore around and re4st overnight.
Day 20: Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2,860 m).~ 4-5 hours
Today is our last walk of Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek. We walk through the gorge of the Dudh Koshi River and pass several villages to reach Lukla. Traill moves through Phakding valley and crosses suspension bridge to reach Lukla. Tonight is your last night with your crew in Khumbu region.
Day 21: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 30 minutes flight
Early in the morning take scenic flight to reach Kathmandu. During the flight you can see closet view of Himalaya. After landing at Kathmandu you will be received by Yarsa staff and transferred to the hotel.
Day 22: Farewell Friends!!!
Today Yarsa Treks service will be ended with you. Yarsa Treks drop you to the International airport for your final departure.
