Everest Three Passes trek is one of the most adventurous trekking destinations in Everest region. Everest Three passes trek takes you through three challenging passes Renjo La pass (5,360 m), Chola-La pass (5,420 m), Kongma-La Pass (5,535 m) in Everest region. This 21 days long trek requires physical fitness, good health and habits of trekking. The highlights of this trek are climbing the rocky outcrop, the highest access point Kalapatthar (5,545 m). From here we can see breathtaking views of the highest mountains of the world.
During Everest Three Passes trek we visit the turquoise Gokyo lake, passing through three challenging passes, lush vegetation, terraced farmlands, beautiful villages, Chhortens and prayer flags, ancient and popular monasteries like Tengboche, Tibetan Sherpa culture, ancient Bonpo practice, Yak pasture lands and many more. Everest three passes trek is one of the challenging trekking destinations in Khumbu region. This adventurous trekking gives us the best opportunity to visit most of the places of Khumbu region. Everest three passes trail takes you to visit Everest Base Camp, Kalapatthar, Chola La Pass, Kongma La Pass, climbs Gokyo Ri and Renjo la pass. This exotic trek will leads us to Tengboche monastery where Tenzing Norgay Sherpa once committed to become a monk.
Everest three passes trek starts from Lukla as you take a scenic flight from Kathmandu (1,400 m) to Lukla(2,860 m). From Lukla you trek up along the Dudh Koshi River bank, passing through forests of rhododendron and pine up to Namchebazar. Namche Bazar (3,440 m) is the major tourist hub in Everest Region. From Namche you trek down up to Lungden to pass Renjo-La along the off beaten track. From there you can trek to the Gokyo valley and Gokyo Ri which can additional extra attraction. After crossing Renjo- La pass you will trek up to the Cho- La pass and reach Everest Base Camp (5,363 m.). Finally, you will climb the Kongma- La pass which is the highest pass among all three passes. After crossing the Pass you will trek down Dingboche and follow Classic EBC trail to reach Lukla. From Lukla you will take a flight to Kathmandu.

Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food,Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food, they have to cater more trekkers before they run off the stock. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.
Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea house you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will be better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.
Accommodations:
We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodges are fairly basic, some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blanket and little additional furniture. There will be large dining room where you can get the warm by Bukhara stove. In the tea house there will be the solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.
Things to take:
This is very active trip, we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get porter who will carry maximum 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry maximum 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous, passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we should have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problem such as lung, heart and other diseases it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa Treks before booking the trip.
Suitable Time to Trek:
For Trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but temperatures could be harsher for most trekkers.

Important notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu (1,400 m).
Upon
your arrival we assist you from international airport to hotel. After
getting rest and refreshed visit local markets in Thamel and rest overnight.
Day 02: Visit
over Kathmandu valley.
Today
we provide you a day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. Explore around
some of the best scenic and world heritage sites around Kathmandu. We provide
you experienced guide to visit the world heritage sites
like Swayambhunath, Hindus most religious place Pashupatinath,
Boudhanath, Kathmandu Darbar square, Patan Darbar square, Bhaktapur
Darbar square and other sightseeing places. Prepare for tomorrow
and rest overnight.
Day 03: Early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla
(2,850 m).
We
fly from Kathmandu to Lukla most exciting and adventurous airstrip of the world.
We start our trekking through the Dudh koshi valley and edge of Dudh koshi
river. After crossing the suspension bridge we will be in Cheplung
village from there we can observe glimpses of Mt khumbila (5,761 m) which is
also known as scared mountain and "God of khumbu” which is never been
climbed. After crossing the small village Cheplung Our trail will leads us
to Phakding (2,652 m)and rest overnight.
Day 04: Today we trek from Phakding all the way to
the gate way town of Everest region Namche Bazaar (3,440 m).
We
trek for 5-6hours following beautiful landscape and Himalaya’s
scenery. Before we start our trekking there will be short brief about
route, climate, cultural variation and safety. On the way you
will experience the beautiful view of rhododendron flower, rhododendron bush, hilarious
mountain view, hanging bridge of Dudh koshi (milk river), and so
on. End of the Phakding village there is a hanging bridge Dudh
koshi (milk river) after 2hours walk we will reach Monjo. We pass through Sagarmatha
(Everest) national park to reach Jorsole this will be our last resting point
before climb up to Namche bazra. Rest overnight.
Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namchebazar (3,440 m).
This
day we should active instead of passive.
In Namchebazaar there is a different places to
explore, you can go cultural trip to traditional Sherpa village khumjung with
a view of Themserku(6,623 m) , AMA dablammt (6,812 m), Mt Everest(8,848 M) and
many more. Visit Everest View Hotel or (Khumjung / Khunde). you can visit National
Park Museum then back to Namche. Rest overnight.
Day 06: Today we trek from Namche Bazaar all the way
to Tengboche (3,860 m) walking for 5-6 hours.
After
short brief about route and safety we start our trail to Tengboche which is
largest monastery of Everest region . We will try to reach Tengoche monastery
in afternoon, from Tengboche monastery we can see panoramic view of world
highest peak, Ama doblam, Mt everest, Lhotse, Themserk and Nuptse. rest
overnight.
Day 07: Today we trek for 6-7hours from Tangboche all
the way to Dingboche (4,410 m).
Before
we start trekking there will be short brief about further way, altitude and
safety. Next, after leaving Tangboche village back, there is suspension hanging
bridge over Imjha river after crossing the bridge ,we can see Lhotse(8,516
m), Mt Everest (8,848 m), Ama doblam (6,812 m) which are beautiful
mountains of Everest region. From Pangboche monastery (placed yeti's
scalp) treks moves towards Imjha valley, Lobuche river and begins to
climb towards Dingboche. In Dingboche we can see wall of stone to protect
barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold wind and grazing
animals. Rest overnight.
Day 08: Acclimatization day in Dingboche (4,410 m).
Today
we excursion and climb up Narsyang top (4,967 m) walking for 4-5hours. In this
acclimatization day we trek Narsyang top to see beautiful view of world’s top Himalayas
and back to Dingboche and Rest overnight.
Day 09: Today we trek for 4-5 hours from Narsyang top
to Chhukung (4,730 m).
Today
we trek for 4-5hours from Narsyang top to Chhukung (4730m). After short
brief we start our trail by watching fabulous view of Ama doblan , Chalotse,
Tawache, and the ridge of Lhotse-Nupte trek towards Chhukung. Next passing
through Imjha valley, entering glacier moraine and beautiful towering
view of Himalayas, our trails continue to Babri (yak herdman place). Trails
will be interesting by icy streams. After this half an hour walk we
will be in Chhukung which is surrounded by glacier. Rest overnight.
Day 10: Early morning climb Khongma La pass (5,535 m)
and trek to Lobuche (4,970 m) walking for (8-9 hrs).
After
short brief about route and safety we start our trail to highest part of our
trip Khongma la pass(5,535 m).
Next, we trek over hill which located in North West part of Chhukung over the Nupte
glacier moraine, on the top of the pass is marked by a colorful Buddhist prayer
flag and descend from this hill is adventure and challenging part of this trip.
After that our trails turns to north through khumbu glacier to Lobuche(4,970 m) and Rest overnight
at Lobuche in tea house.
Day 11: Today we trek for 2-3 hours from Lobuche all
the way Gorak Shep (5,165 m) to Everest base camp.
Before
we start trekking there will be short brief about further way and
altitude. Today our trails continue through windy and rocky path to Gorak
shep .we continue our journey to Everest base camp along Mahalangur ,Khumbutse ,
Pumori many more Himalayas. Next, small ascend steeps lead us to Riju from here
we can see the beautiful view of Himalayan vista. After ascending steep
trail over Changri glacier we will be in Gorak shep . After some rest we
continue our trail to everst base camp ,passing through rocky dunes
and moraines we will be in world's top base camp (EBC) from here we
can see beautiful view of Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori mountains. Next, back
to Gorek shep, overnight at tea house.
Day 12: Early morning climb Kalapatthar (5,545 m).
After
having breakfast we trek kalapatthar to
Dzongla (4,830m) walking for (4 hrs.). We can see great sun rise view from
Kalapatthar as well as hilarious towering view of Mt Everest, Mt
lhotse, Mt Puromi, Mt Lingtren, Mt Khumbutse, Mt Ama doblam, Mt Changtse, Mt
Nupte and other many more. After visiting kalapatthar trail moves to Dzongla and
Rest overnight.
Day 13: Today early in the morning we go for a climb
of Chola La Pass (5,330 m) and then to Thangna (4,700 m).
Today
we trek for 7-8hours. This trail is also the one of the toughest part of the trip;
descend to basin across meanders a murmuring steam crusted with ice at place.
After walking about an hour we will be in top of the basin ready to triumph on
Chola, when Chola lakes begins to appear and the Ama doblam in its incarnation
preside at the range of mountain. At the south we can see Cholaste towering
view. Next, Chola climbing can be quite tricky, trails curves round the
bergschrund. At the top of Chole there is a colorful prayer flag, strung across
caiths, flapping in the strong wind. You can see all beautiful breathtaking
view of Himalayas around you. Next, long path leading down to Thangana can be
little easily made out but you should careful, rock can glazed by ice. Then we
reach to thangna (4,700 m). Enjoy evening cultural dinner and rest overnight.
Day 14: Today we trek for 3-4 hours all the way from
Thangna to Gokyo (4,760 m).
We
start our trekking through Nagozampa glacier ,which is largest glacier in Nepal.
After reaching other side of the glacier we can get view of the second Gokyo
lake among six lakes. After short walk there is a third Gokyo lake and the edge
of the lake is a Gokyo village. Overnight at Gokyo village in tea house.
Day 15: Today morning climb to Gokyo RI (5,480 m)
and back to Gokyo.
Today
we trek for 4-5 hours. If weather is clear we will climb to Gokyo RI from
top of Gokyo RI, we admire Himalayan vista and tranquil Gokyo lake. We also
hike fourth and fifth Gokyo lake, forth lake is located 3 km away
from Gokyo. Here we can see high black rock Himalayan peak rising above
it. After few walk we will be in fifth lake, climbing up by near hill we can
see hilarious view of Cho-oyu, Lhotse, Makalu and Everest. From the Scounderel's
view point we can see Nagazumpa glacier which is largest glacier in Nepal and Cho-oyu
base camp and we trek back to Gokyo. Rest overnight.
Day 16: Today early morning climb to Renjo La pass
(5,340 m) walking for 4hrs and then descend to Lungden (4,380 m).
Today
we trek (7-8 hrs.) all the way to Lungden. Our trail climb up the flank of Gokyo
Ri. We proceed early down from the Gokyo valley. After that we leave the main
trails and turn to Rengo la trail by Dudh pokhari . After 3 hours walk there is
a Renjo la, where dazzling view awaits (Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche).These
mountain can be seen shining in the sun. View from Renjo likely to Gokyo Ri. Down
from stone staircases and then scramble to reach the south bank of Angladumba Tsho
lake. Along the way we can see Relama Tsho and Renjo lake. Next we down through
narrow valley to Lungden. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 17: Today we trek for 4 hours from Lungden all
the way to Thame (3,800 m).
After breakfast we start our trail from Lungden to Thame. This is the oldest route used by Tibetan salt traders. After crossing
Bhote koshi and descend to Taranga . After passing two bridge we will be in Thame where famous
gompa is located. Thame is one of the oldest monastery of khumbu region. it is
the home of many mountaineers, Apa Sherpa(who holds world record of submitting Everest
21 times. It was also the childhood home town of Tenzing Norgay (first men to
climb mt Everest with Edmund Hillary). Rest overnight.
Day 18: Today we trek for 6-7 hours from Thame all the
way to Phakding (2,620 m).
After
leaving back historical place Thame our trail moves through Namche bazar to
phakding. After crossing several bridges of Dudh koshi river, walking through pine
forest and Dudh koshi valley, crossing several Sherpa villages noticing
impressive faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stone and prayer flag we
reach to phakding and Rest overnight.
Day 19: Today we trek for 4-5 hours from Phakding all
the way to Lukla (2,820 m).
After
exploring natural beauty of Phakding, we start our trail to Lukla. After crossing
bridge and Cheplung village we will be in Lukla village we take rest and get
refresh. Tonight is your last night in Khumbu region with your local
crew. Rest overnight at Lukla.
Day 20: Fly from
Lukla (2,820 m) to Kathmandu(1,400 m).
Today
early in the morning we fly an exotic scenic flight from Lukla all the way to
Kathmandu. We spend our half of the day visiting different architectural
temples and castle. At the evening there will be a typical Nepali dinner (Dal, Bhat) with various cultural show. Enjoy evening programs and rest overnight.
Day 21: final
departure to your home.
Today
we assist you to International airport for your departure. Yarsa treks will
drop you to the airport before 3hours of your departure. There will be the
farewell program.
