14 Days Annapurna sanctuary trek follows the traditional path used by Tibetan traders for centuries. Sanctuary trek is revered for spiritual significance and its beauty. Annapurna sanctuary trek takes you to the traditional villages and gives opportunity to explore deep cultural values, lifestyle of local community. Sanctuary route leads you to encircled colossal ring of the giant Himalayas. On the sanctuary trek we can see Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m), Mt Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Manaslu (8,156 m), Mt. Gangapurna (7,455 m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 m) and many more. During the trek we pass through delightful village, beautiful forests of rhododendron and oak and phenomenal sunrise views over high mountains.

Annapurna sanctuary trek moves through the gorge of the Modi River and leads to the different cultural villages. During the trek trekkers can observe the typical lifestyle, culture and natural beauty. In this route most of the villages belong to the Gurung community so we can observe and know their tradition and culture. On the way we can listen to the chirping of birds all of the time. Sanctuary trek offers magnificent views of Himalayas in Annapurna region. We will move through Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Base Camp at 3,700 m elevation, which is the last settlement of this trek. Here we will be rewarded with the splendid view of Fishtail. We will be 360 degrees surrounded by Himalayan peaks of Annapurna region.

Annapurna sanctuary trek starts from Kathmandu by driving to Pokhara and the trek moves through different cultural villages. We walk from Nayapul and pass through Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrung, Himalayan hotel, Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) which is the highest elevation of our trip. After Annapurna base camp our trail descends to Bamboo village, Jhinu Danda, Pothana, Phedi and we drive to Pokhara. We will fly or drive to Kathmandu which is the ending point of Annapurna sanctuary trek. Annapurna Sanctuary trekking package is same as Annapurna Base Camp trek but this trek encounters more than ABC trek. 

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu (1,400 m).

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara (835 m).~ 25 minutes in flight, 6-7 hours Drive

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul then trek to Ulleri (1,900 m).~ drive 42 km, trek 5-6 hours

Day 05: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,853 m).~ 5-6 hours, 10 km

Day 06: Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani (2,600 m).~ 7-8 hours, 12 km

Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170 m).~ 5-6 hours, 9.8 km

Day 08: Trek from Chhomrong to Himalayan hotel (2,925 m).~ 6-7 hours, 13 km

Day 09: Trek from Himalayan hotel to Annapurna  Base Camp (4,130 m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m)

Day 10: Trek back to  Bamboo village (2,300 m).~ 6-7 hours, 13 km

Day 11: Trek from Bamboo village to Jhinu Danda (1,790 m).~ 5-6 hours, 11km

Day 12: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Pothana (1,920 m).~ 5-6 hours, 12.5 km

Day 13: Trek from Pothana to Phedi and drive to Pokhara (835).~ 10 km trek, 22 km drive

Day 14: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 6 hours drive, 205 km

More Information

Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is the most concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food, Italian food, Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food as they have to cater to more trekkers before they run off stock. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.

Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea houses you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will be better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.

Accommodations:
We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu/Pokhara with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodges are fairly basic, in some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blankets and little additional furniture.  There will be large dining room where you can get the warmth by Bukhara stove. In the tea houses there will be solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.

Things to take:
This is very active trip we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get a porter who  will carry 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous.Passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we should have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be the better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problems such as lungs, heart and other diseases, it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa treks before booking the trip.

Suitable Time to Trek:
For trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in Summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but temperatures could be  harsher for most trekkers.

Important Notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu (1,400 m).
Today our airport representative will receive you from international airport and assist you to hotel. After getting rest and refreshed we will take you to Nepali restaurant for dinner and cultural show. After dinner prepare for tomorrow and rest overnight.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.
Today we take you for sightseeing some of the most important UNESCO world heritage site. We will visit Hindus holy temple Pashupatinath, Buddhist shrine Boudhanath and oldest temple Swayambhunath. Prepare for tomorrow trip and rest overnight.

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara (835 m).
Today we drive or fly to Pokhara. We will take bus and drive 205 km for 6 hours through the edge of Trishuli River which is very famous rafting. From Munglin trail goes to west and pass different small town. After reaching Pokhara you can enjoy the evening atmosphere of lakeside. Rest overnight.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul then trek to Ulleri (1,940 m).~ Drive 42 km, Trek 5-6 hours
Today after breakfast we drive 1 ½ hours (42 km) to Nayapul. From Nayapul our trail moves along the Modi Khola and reaches to Birethnti and walk through small villages and forest. Next we ascend to ridge and walk to reach Ulleri. Explore around and rest overnight.

Day 05: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,860 m).~ 10 km, Trek 5-6 hours
Today we walk for 5-6 hours to reach Ghorepani. We start our trail through forest of rhododendron and oak. Next we ascend and descend on the route. On the way the great Himalayan view gives us energy to move towards our destination. Lastly trail ascend to Upper Ghorepani known as Deurali, explore around and rest overnight.

Day 06: Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani (2,530 m).~ 12 km, 7-8 hours
Today early in the morning we will hike to Poonhill. We will walk for 45 minutes to reach grassy Poonhill (3,210 m). From here we can see beautiful sunrise view and panoramic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m), Mt. Manaslu (8,156 m) and other Himalaya. Next we trek to Tadapani through pine and rhododendron forest. On the way we can see the numerous snow peaks in far north side. After crossing several ridges we will be in Tadapani. Explore around and rest overnight.

Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,115 m).~ 9.8 km, 5-6 hours
Today trail lead us to Chhomrong. We walk through Chuile and drop Kimrong River to cross suspension bridge. Trail moves through dense forest of Modi Khola valley, Talrung village and walk through stairs to reach Chhomrong village. Explore Chhomrong agricultural village and rest overnight.

Day 08: Trek from Chhomrong to Himalayan hotel (2,925 m).~ 13 km, 6-7 hours
Today our trail descends to Chhomrong river and ascend to beautiful and small village Sinuwa. After Sinuwa our trail enters to upper Modi khola valley and walk through rhododendron, cane and oak forest. Next we descend to Bamboo village on the bank of the river and walk through uninhabitant Dovan next we will be small village of Himalayan hotel. Explore around and rest overnight.

Day 09: Trek from Himalayan hotel to Annapurna base camp (4,130 m) via Machhapuchra base camp (3,700 m).~ 10 km, 6-7 hours
Today our trails moves to Annapurna base camp. From here altitude rises, leaving tree line behind and walk through scrub grasses alpine. Next we will walk through Hinku cave and moves through Deorali. After Deorali we will reach Machhapuchra base camp and 2 hours walk will lead us to Annapurna sanctuary and rest overnight.

Day 10: Trek back to small Bamboo village (2,300 m).~ 13 km, 6-7 hours
Today we trek back to Bamboo village. We can see spectacular view of Annapurna range, Huinchuli, Machhapuchre and other peaks in our back. After crossing several villages and forest we will reach village of Bamboo and rest overnight.

Day 11: Trek from Bamboo village to Jhinu Danda (1,790 m).~ 11 km, 5-6 hours
Today our trail moves through Sinuwa village, descend to cross Chhomrong khola and walk through forest to reach Chhomrong. Next trail drops short steep to reach Jhinu Danda. Take hot spring at the evening below the village and rest overnight.

Day 12: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Pothana (1,920 m).~ 12 km, 5-6 hours
Today our Trail ascends for 2 hours to reach Deurali. The village is on the top of hill her we can see splendid view of Annapurna (8091 m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) and view of Pokhara valley with Phewa lake. Next trail descend to farmland Pothana. Explore around and rest overnight.

Day 13: Trek from Pothana to Phedi and drive to Pokhara (884).~ 10 km 3-4 hours trek, Drive 22 km
Today is our last day of walking. We walk to downhill through slightly ridge and large village of Dhumpas. Next trail gradually descend to Phedi there will be bus/car will be waiting to take you Pokhara. If we get time we will visit some touristic places of Pokhara and rest overnight.

Day 14: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 205 km, 6 hours
Today is our last day of our trip. We drive or fly back to Kathmandu and drop you to the hotel. This last night you can celebrate with your friend and family. Prepare for tomorrow final departure and rest overnight.
