Budget Gokyo Lake trekking package offers one of the amazing experiences while trekking in Nepal where trekkers can get eye catching panoramic views of the world’s highest peaks of Everest region as well as tranquoise lakes. This trekking offers splendid views of above 8,000 m high Himalayas, beautiful alpine forests, Gokyo valley, tranquoise lakes and natural diversity. Gokyo lake feeds water from Ngozumpa glacier and Renjo La Pass. These permanent sources have high amount of hydrological value in water, which is the freshest water. Budget Gokyo Lake trek targets those who don’t have enough time,who have low budget but are physically fit and mentally prepared to visit Gokyo valley.
If you are interested to see the highest mountains and alpine valleys with tranquoise lakes, this trekking destination is perfect. This exciting trek is blend of culture, majestic views, flora and fauna. During the trek in Gokyo you we shouldn’t miss to climb Gokyo Ri (5,353 m) to see the Gokyo tranquoise lake and giant guardian peaks at Tibet border. Another exciting part of this trip is unique cultural and lifestyle of Sherpa community. While trekking in Gokyo valley you can get the breathtaking view of Ngozumpa Glacier ( the biggest glacier in Nepal) above the ridge of Gokyo valley.
Short Gokyo Lake trek is located in the heart of the Everest region. We start this amazing trek flying from Kathmandu to Lukla.During this scenic flight like as mountain flight, trekkers can get the splendid Himalayan views. We trek to Phakding and pass through Chheplung village with the spectacular views of Ama Dablam and Khumbila. The trail moves through Namchebazar, Phortse, Dole,Machhermo then we will be at Gokyo valley. After exploring Gokyo we trek back same way to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) trek to Phakding (2660 m).~ 30 minutes flight
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namchebazar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours
Day 03: Trek from Namche to Dole (4,100 m).~ 5-6 hours
Day 04: Trek from Dole to Machharmo (4,400 m).~ 4-5 hours
Day 05: Trek from Machharmo to Gokyo (4,810 m).~ 4-5 hours
Day 06: Exploration day in Gokyo valley.
Day 07: Trek from Gokyo to Namchebazar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours
Day 08: Trek from Namchebazar to Lukla(2,840 m).~ 5-6 hours

More Information
Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is the most concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food,Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food as they have to cater to more trekkers before they run off the stock. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.
Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea house you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will be better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.
Accommodations:
We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodges are fairly basic, some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blanket and little additional furniture. There will be large dining room where you can get the warm by Bukhara stove. In the tea house there will be the solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.
Things to take:
This is very active trip, we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get porter who will carry maximum 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry maximum 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous, passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we should have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problem such as lung, heart and other diseases it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa Treks before booking the trip.
Suitable Time to Trek:
For Trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but temperatures could be harsher for most trekkers.

Important notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) trek to Phakding.~ 30 minutes flight and 3-4 hours walk
Today we take scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It is same as mountain flight with various tallest Mountain View. After dramatic landing at Tenzing-Hillary airport we will meet our crew (Guide and porter) then prepare our bag packs for trekking. Trail passes through Lukla village and descends to Dudh Koshi valley. We walk through George of the Dudh Koshi River passing several Sherpa villages. Next, we will be in Phakding and rest overnight.
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namchebazar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Before we enter to Sagarmatha National park we need to show our travel permit documents. After showing our documents we walk through Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park with the spectacular view of Himalayas in front of us. Sagarmatha National Park is rich for different flora and fauna. Trails ascends to Namchebazaar; capital of Sherpa community. Next, we will Namchebazaar and rest overnight.
Day 03: Trek from Namchebazar to Dole (4100 m)5-6 hours walk
Today trail climb up with the majestic view of Cho-oyu, Themserku and Kantega. Trail reach Luza village ad ascend to Dudh Koshi river and walk through sandy path before reach to Machchhermo. In Machchhermo we can visit rescue hospital and get knowledge about altitude sickness and primary treatments.
Day 04: Trek from Dole to Machharmo (4,400 m)
After breakfast we will trek through alpine vegetation to reach Machharmo. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 05: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4,800 m).~ 3-4 hours
Trail ascend to the ridge and down to Dudh Koshi valley. We ascend to moraine of Nazogumpa glacier and reach other Longpongo and Loboche Tsho before Gokyo Lake. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 06: Exploration day in Gokyo valley.
Today we explore other tranquiose lakes and visit around Gokyo Lake. We will climb Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) to see the panorama of Gokyo alpine valley with magnificent Gokyo lake and giant mountains guarding the boarder in Tibet. Rest overnight.
Day 07: Trek from Gokyo to Namchebazaar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today we follow the Dudh Koshi river until we ascend to the ridge. Trail leads us to the ridge and walk through alpine and forest of rhododendron forest. Next, trail leads us above the ridge line of Namchebazaar and descends to capital of Sherpa. Explore colorful market and rest overnight.
Day 08: Trek from Namchebazaar to Lukla (2,860 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Trail descend to Dudh Koshi valley and passes several Sherpa villages such as Monjo, Benkar, Phakding and Cheplung village. Next, trail ascends to Lukla village and tonight you can celebrate your last memory with your crew and rest overnight.
Day 09: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 30 minutes flight
Today early in the morning we fly back to Kathmandu taking some awesome memories of Gokyo valleys. Our airport representative will receive and assist you to hotel. Tonight Yarsa treks will arrange your farewell dinner in Nepali restaurant with cultural shows.
