Dolpo region trekking is famous for its pristine beauty and culture of its people. The region is scattered in vast land of Nepal located just north of Dhaulagiri Himal. The region lies at the rain shadow area of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna and has Semi-arid type of climate and vegetation. The Semi-arid landscape of the region resembles the Tibetan plateau unlike other lush vegetation receiving rainfall in other hilly region in Nepal. Dolpo region trek provides an opportunity to meet nomadic people in highland whose lifestyle are enriched by their ancient rich culture and religion Bon religion of 16th century. Turquoise lake like Phoksundo surrounded by the mountains, Cascades feeding lakes, and hidden valley are major attraction of the place. Phoksundo Lake (3,733 m.) is the highest altitude lake in the world. Dolpo region trekking offers the diversity of landscape, vegetation and climate in short period of time which none other trekking destination in world can deliver.

Dolpo region was opened for trekking only after 1989, and still today this trekking destination is off the beaten and remote. Dolpo region trekking starts after you take a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. The Phoksundo National park which largely cover the Dolpo region trekking was considered as national park since 1984 and is the largest national park of the country. This national park inhibits endangered species like Musk Deer, Himalayan Blue Sheep and the legendary Snow Leopard. En route you will pass through beautiful villages, fascinating peoples, beautiful scenery, spectacular Mountain View, Lake Phoksundo, forest of pine and oaks.
