Gokyo Cho-La Pass trek takes you to the foot of the world's highest mountain. This adventurous trekking package explores the untouched remote of Gokyo valley, splendid tranquoise lakes, the biggest glacier, Himalayan views and Everest Base Camp. Trekking in Nepal is one of the exciting and adventurous activities around the Himalaya region. While trekking to Everest region trekkers can get extraordinary experience of untouched remote and Sherpa culture. Gokyo Cho-La Pass trek is designed for those trekkers who are seeking to climb on challenging high passes while trekking in Nepal.
After your arrival at high mountain valley you are welcome with spire blue lakes and vintage point which offer the giant Himalayas guarding the border in Tibet. During this trip trekkers can get 360 degree view of the world’s highest Himalayas around you.This ultimate trek covers the most part of the trekking route in Everest region. One of the exciting part of this trekking is to cross suspension bridge, see the phenomenal mountain views, walk through Sherpa villages and encounter Dudh Koshi valleys. During this trek we will visit Everest Base Camp (5,363 m) and Kalapatthar (5,545 m) which is bonus of this trekking route.
Gokyo Cho-La Pass trek starts with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and treks to Namchebazar through several Sherpa villages. From Namchebazar the trail follows the Dudh koshi river and passes Dole and Machhermo Sherpa villages to reach Gokyo valley. After these Gokyo valley trail moves through Ngozumba glacier to ascend Cho La Pass (5,420 m) and descend to visit Everest Base camp. Finally, we follow EBC classic trail and pass Dingboche, Pangboche, Tengboche, Namchebazar to reach Lukla. Then we fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) and trek to Phakding (2,640 m).~ 30 minutes flight and 3-4 hours walk
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namchebazar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours
Day 03: Trek from Namcheebazar to Dole (4,038 m). ~ 5-6 hours
Day 04: Trek from Dole to Mochchharmo (4,410 m).~ 5-6 hours
Day 05: Trek from Mochchharmo to Gokyo (4,800 m).~ 4-5 hours
Day 06: Acclimatization day in Gokyo.
Day 07: Trek from Gokyo to Thangnak (4,700 m).~ 5 hours
Day 08: Trek from Thangnak to Dzonglha (4,830 m) via Cho-La Pass (5,330 m).~ 6-7 hours
Day 09: Trek from Dzonglha to Gorekshep (5,180 m).~ 6-7 hours
Day 10: Hike to Kalapatthar and visit EBC trek back to Lobuche (4,930 m).~ 5-6 hours

More Information
Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food,Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food, they have to cater more trekkers before they run off the stock. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.
Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea house you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will be better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.
Accommodations:
We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodges are fairly basic, some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blanket and little additional furniture. There will be large dining room where you can get the warm by Bukhara stove. In the tea house there will be the solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.
Things to take:
This is very active trip, we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get porter who will carry maximum 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry maximum 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous, passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we should have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problem such as lung, heart and other diseases it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa Treks before booking the trip.
Suitable Time to Trek:
For Trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but temperatures could be harsher for most trekkers.

Important notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) and trek to Phakding (2,640 m).~ 30 minutes flight and 3-4 hours walk
Today we fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. This flight is same as mountain flight because you can observe the view of more than 18 mountains and 4 of them are more than 8,000 m above. After dramatic landing middle of the hill in Tenzing-Hilary airport you will meet your crew (guide and porter) prepare your bag pack and walk through Lukla village. We walk through Everest base camp trail and descend to Dudh Koshi River. We cross several suspension bridge over the crystal clear glacier water, pass several Sherpa villages with the stunning view of mountain forehead of you. Rest and explore around Phakding.
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namchebazar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today we walk to Namchebazar through the aside of Dudhkoshi river. After reaching Monjo we will ascend to the ridge to get in Namchebazar, here you can see Mountain View of Ama Doblam, Nuptse, Lhotse and other snow capped mountains. Trail moves through forest to connect with capital of sherpa Namchebazar. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 03: Trek from Namchebazar to Dole (4,038 M).
Today we will trek to the ridge above Namchebazar and follow the trajectory to Dole, during the hike we will pass several forests and alpine terrains before Dole. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 04: Trek from Dole to Machchharmo (4,410 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today we walk through rhododendron forest with the view of Cho Oyu, Ama Doblam, Themsherku, Khatanga and other mountains. After crossing forest we reach to Sherpa village to Machchhermo. In Machchharmo you can visit Rescue hospital and listen lecture about altitude sickness and safety. Rest overnight.
Day 05: Trek from Machchharmo to Gokyo (4,800 m).~ 4-5 hours walk
Today we through semi desert alpine with the great view of Cholatse and Mahalangur himal. Next, our trail descends to Dudh Koshi river before walking g the moraine of Nagozampa glacier on a steep trail. Next we will reach holy Dudh Pokhari, Longpongo and Loboche Tsho before reach Gokyo Lake. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 06: Acclimatization day in Gokyo.
Today we explore other lakes or hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357 m). From Gokyo Ri you can get the surrounding view of majestic Himalayas and beautiful Gokyo valley. After exploration get back to tea house and rest overnight.
Day 07: Trek from Gokyo to Thangnak (4,700 m).~ 5 hours walk
Today trail moves through Nagozampa glacier. We must cross this biggest glacier before sun gets more heated. After crossing Nagozampa glacier trail ascend to ridge and stay at lodge in Thangnak.
Day 08: Trek from Thangnak to Dzonglha (4,830 m) via Cho-La Pass (5,330 m).~ 6-7 hours walk
Today we start ascend to ridge and descend to the bottom of Cho-La Pass. Trail gently ascends to Cho-La Pass (5,330 m) with the world tallest majestic Himalayas view around you. Next, our trail ascends through big rock and walk to reach Dzonglha. Explore around view and rest overnight.
Day 09: Trek from Dzonglha to Gorekshep (5,180 m).~ 3-4 hours walk
Today after breakfast easy downhill and simple ups and downs will lead us to Lobuche. Next, we will trek through rocky path which is part of the glacier. Rest overnight at Gorekshep.
Day 10: Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545 m) and visit EBC, trek to Lobuche (4,930 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today early in the morning we will hike to Kalapatthar (5,545 m) to see the breathtaking view of sunrise over Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. After stunning view we trek same way back to Lobuche then rest overnight at Lobuche.
Day 11: Trek from Lobuche to Tengboche (3,860 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today after breakfast we cross river and follow tha Imjha river. Trail leads us to Pangboche and descends to cross Imjhe River. After crossing Imjha River we walk through rhododendron forest to reach Tengboche. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 12: Trek from Tengboche to Namchebazaar (3,440 m).~ 4-5 hours walk
Early in the morning we will visit Tengboche monastery and see the stunning sunrise view over Everest and other highest mountains. After breakfast trail descend through forest to cross Dudh Koshi river then ascend through dense forest of rhododendron and oak. Next, Trail leads us to ridge above the Namchebazzar and descends to Namche. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 13:Trek from Namchebazaar to Lukla (2,860 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today after breakfast trail descend to Dudh Koshi Valley and follow the George of Dudh Koshi river. Pass several villages including Phakding valley. Next, ascend to Lukla and celebrate for your successful journey in Khumbu region. Rest overnight.
Day 14: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 30 minutes flight
Early in the morning say bye to your crew and fly taking beautiful memories of Everest region. Yarsa treks will receive you from airport and assist you to hotel. At the evening Yarsa treks arrange dinner in Nepali restaurant with various cultural shows. Rest overnight at hotel.
