Langtang Region Trekking
Langtang is the most accessible and uncrowded trekking destination in Nepal. Langtang lies very near to Kathmandu valley at about 130 kilometers north to Kathmandu valley towards the border of china and Nepal. Langtang region trekking destinations largely falls on the Langtang national park region. Langtang National park is the first Himalayan National park and fourth national park in Nepal. Langtang National park was established in 1976 and covers an area of 1,710 sq km.
Langtang region is famous for more than 108 high altitude lakes like Bhairab kunda, Saraswoti kunda, Gosain kunda and its glaciers. Gosainkunda lake is one of the most holy lake in Nepal every year on the Day of Janai Purnima (full moon) and Gangadasahara thousands of pilgrims come to visit the lake. The region consists of high diversity with 14 vegetation types within 18 different types of ecosystem. Langtang region is dominated by spectacular mountains like Langtang Lirung (7,245 m.), Gang Chhenpo (6388m), Lenpo Gang (7083m), Jugal Himal, Dorje Larkpa (6,989 m.), Chimse Danda and Ganja- la Pass (5,122 m.). Crossing Ganja-La pass is another major attraction of Langtang region trekking. Langtang region is mainly dominated by the Tamang people and one can enjoy the unique culture, lifestyle, dance of local community.
Langtang region trekking does not require any flight as the place is near to Kathmandu valley. As you trek up the changing vegetation along with the topography and flora and fauna inhibited their will amaze you. You can enjoy different vegetation type ranging from subtropical forest, temperate forest of pine, birch, maple, Alpine bushes of different types of rhododendron and herbal plants.
