Autumn season is important for trekking in Nepal. Autumn is not only perfect for trekking,it is suitable time for festival in Everest region. Oct-Nov is perfect blend of nature and culture for trekkers in Everest region. This is the most important festival in Everest region. Mani Rimdu festival takes place in Tengboche monastery. This ethnic festival lasts for nineteen days and culminates in a three day public festival. This trekking package also covers the Everest base camp because trekkers can get two offers in one trekking destination. Everest base camp is bonus for Mani Rimdu trek. It is the best way to explore mixture of culture and nature in trekking region.
This festival is famous for masked dance performed by monks. Mask dance is the main attraction of this festival. In the Autumn season large numbers of trekkers visit the Everest region to visit Everest Base Camp and other trekking destinations. During this trekking season many travelers can witness Mani Rimdu Festival. This trek also focuses to the Everest base camp and Kalapatthar during the trip and takes you to Tengboche monastery for the eye witness of Mani Rimdu festival. During this festival all Sherpas from Khumbu region come to Tengboche monastery to celebrate Mani Rimdu festival.This festival offers the memorizing cultural experience, stunning views of mountains, natural flora and fauna and cross cultural association.
During the trek we fly to Lukla and walk through Cheplung, Phakding and Monjo to reach Namchebazar. After visiting Namchebazar we walk through Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche to visit Everest Base Camp (5,363 m) and Kalapatthar (5,545 m). Next we trek back to Tengboche Monastery and be the part of the Mani Rimdu festival. After ending ceremony of festival we trek back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu (1,400 m) to Lukla (2,860 m) and trek to Phakding (2,640 m).~ 30 minutes flight and 3-4 hours walk
Day 02: Trek from Monjo to Tengboche (3,860 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Day 03: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche.~ 5-6 hours walk
Day 04: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche.~ 5-6 hours
Day 05: Trek from Lobuche to Gorekshep and visit Everest Base Camp (5,663 m).~ 5-6 hours
Day 06: Hike to Kalapatthar and trek back to Pheriche.~ 5-6 hours walk

More Information
Meals:
When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is the concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food, Italian food, Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food as they have to cater to more trekkers before they run off stuck. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.
Drinking Water:
During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be a big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea houses you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.
Accommodations:
We provide you the best touristic hotel in Kathmandu with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodge facilities are fairly basic. In some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blanket and little additional furniture. There will be large dining room where you can get the warmth by Bukhara stove. In the tea house there will be the solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging your camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.
Things to take:
This is very active trip, so we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get porter who will carry maximum 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry maximum 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:
These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous types.The passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we must have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problem such as lungs, heart and other diseases it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa Treks before booking the trip.
Suitable Time to Trek:
For Trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in the Himalayas. Trekking in Summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in Winter but temperatures could be harsher for the most trekkers.

Important Notes:
If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium sized bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu (1,400 m) to Lukla (2,860 m) and trek to Monjo (2,840 m).~ 30 minutes flight and 3-4 hours walk
Today after breakfast we take scenery flight to Lukla. During the flight you will be rewarded by 18 majestic Mountain View. After dramatic landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport we will we will meet our crew (Guide and porter) and walk through Lukla village. Trail descend to the DudhKoshi valley and moves through the gorge of the Dudh Koshi river. We pass through Cheplung village with the great view of Mt. khumbila and Ama Doblam and reach Phakding valley. Next we ascend to the ridge called Monjo and rest overnight at Monjo.
Day 02: Trek from Monjo to Tengboche (3,860 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Before enter to Sagarmatha national Park our all travel document will be checked and gives the permission to National Park. Trail ascend to the Namchebazaar and again ascend to the ridge of the Namchebazaar, from the ridge we can get the magnificent view of mountains to the north and beautiful valley to the south. Next, we will descend to the Dudh Koshi river and cross the bridge and ascend to Tengboche village. Rest overnight at Tengboche.
Day 03: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today early morning we will visit Tengboche monastery with the background view of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. After breakfast we walk through the forest and cross the Bridge of Imjha River. Trail moves through the Imjha gorge and pass Pangboche village. Next, we cross Khumbu glacier to reach Dingboche village. Explore around and rest overnight.
Day 04:Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today we walk through alpine rocky path with the towering view of Tawache and cholatse. Trail descend and cross the wooden bridge and we will walk rocky and windy path to reach gravely terminals, who died Everest disaster in 1996. Here we can see the graves moraine of Scott Fisher and Sherpa who died in Everest disaster. Next, we trek to reach Lobuche and rest overnight.
Day 05:Trek from Lobuche to Gorekshep (5,164 m) and visit Everest Base Camp (5,663 m).~ 5-6 hours
Today we trek through the Khumbu glacier and reach Gorekshep. We take lunch in Gorekshep and walk to visit Everest Base Camp. EBC we can see the towering view of Nuptse and Lhotse but we can’t see Everest peak. During the expedition season we can see lots of colorful tents in EBC. After visiting EBC trek back to Gorekshep and rest overnight.
Day 06: Hike to Kalapatthar and trek back to Pheriche (4,371 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today early in the morning we will hiker to the Katlapattrhar to see the phenomenal sunrise view over Mt. Everest and surrounding view of world highest mountains. After beautiful sunrise view we trek back to Gorekshep and take breakfast. Next we trek back to Pheriche via Lobuche. Rest overnight at Pheriche.
Day 07: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3,860 m) and be the part of Mani Ramdu Festival.~ 5-6 hours walk
Today we trek back to Tengboche where Mani Rimdu festival takes place. We descend to Imjha valley and walk towards Pangboche and cross the Imjha river to reach Tengboche. In the opening ceremony monastery monk will perform the dance. After show rest overnight at Lodge.
Day 08: Second Mani Rimdu Festival in Tengboche monastery.
Today is second day of Mani Rimdu Festival. There will no rustication for anybody all people are welcome to see the Mask dance performed by monk in full moon day of tenth month in the Tibetan lunar calendar. During this day Mani Rilwu (scared pills) and Tsherelli (long live pill) gives to everybody attending. This is most important day of Mani Rimdu festival.
Day 09: Third Mani Rimdu Festival.
Today we can see different dances performed by monks, Sherpa community songs and traditional dances. These dances belong to Daityas and Demons. After performance prepare for tomorrow and overnight at lodge.
Day 10: Trek from Tengboche to Namchebazaar (3,440 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today we trek to Namchebazaar. Trails passes through dense forest and descend to Dudh Koshi river. After crossing the river trail ascend through rhododendron forest to reach at the ridge above the Namchebazaar. Explore around Namchebazaar and rest overnight.
Day 11: Trek from Namchebazaar to Lukla (2,860 m).~ 5-6 hours walk
Today we descend from Namchebazaar to Dudh Koshi Valley. Trail passes through the gorge of the Dudh Koshi River and passes several villages of Sherpa community. Enjoy your last night at Lukla with your crew and rest overnight.
Day 12:Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400 m).~ 25 minutes flight
Today morning we fly to Kathmandu taking awesome memories of Khumbu region. Explore Kathmandu for half day and rest overnight at hotel.
