Annapurna base camp trekking is a legendary classical trek. This trek gives opportunity to intimate with local people and experience lifestyle of Himalayan region. Annapurna Base Camp trekking route goes through tranquil landscapes, traditional village of Gurungs and Magars, dense rhododendron and alpine forest to reach Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m). For ABC trekking March to May (Spring) and September to November (Autumn) is the best time. In these seasons trekkers can get the spectacular views of sunrise over Annapurna (8,091 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Machhapuchhre (6,993 m). ABC trek takes you close to 7,000 m - 8,000 m snow capped peaks and numerous 6,000 m peaks. On the way we can get the towering views of Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Fishtail (6,993 m), Manaslu(8,156 m), Gangapurna (7,455  m), Mardi Himal (5,587 m) and many more peaks.

Annapurna Base Camp trek is the most popular trekking in Nepal, located inside the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). Annapurna Base Camp is the most popular trekking trail in the region, which passes through many diverse cultural villages, terraced farmland, sub-tropical vegetation, alpine grassland, and we can be the eye witness of different flora and fauna. 11 days Annapurna Base Camp trekking trail moves through Machhapuchre Base Camp at 3,700 m elevation. During the trek to ABC we can see the amazing landscapes of valleys and high region. In this route lodges are well equipped with typical Dal and Bhat (rice and lentil). In the low elevation the trail passes through subtropical lush vegetation, rhododendron, bamboo and pine forests but at high elevation  we can’t see tall trees.

We can trek Annapurna Base Camp with moderate difficulty. 11 days Annapurna Base Camp is famous for comfortable trekking package. Passing through different places, villages, forests, will lead us to Annapurna base camp (4,130 m) and back to Pokhara, where we can get relaxed on the lap of the nature by exploring around Pokhara such as Phewa lake, Begnas lake, Gupteshwar cave, Mahendra cave, Bat cave, Sarangkot, Davi's falls and many more places. 

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu (1400 m).

Day 02: Fly or drive to Pokhara (884 m).

Day 03: Drive 42 km to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (1,940 m).~ 1 hour drive, 4-5 hour trek

Day 04: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (1,920 m).~ 5-6 hours

Day 05: Trek Chhomorong to Deurali (3,200 m).~ 8-9 hours

Day 06: Trek Deurali to ABC via Machhapuchre Base Camp (4,130 m).~ 6-7 hours

Day 07: Trek ABC to Dovan ( 2,505 m).~ 7-8 hours

Day 08: Trek Dovan to Landruk (1,565 m).~ 6-7 hours

Day 09: Trek Landruk to Pokhara (835 m) via Nayapul

Day 10: Fly or drive to Kathmandu (1400 m).~ 30 minutes flight, 211 km 6-7 hours

Day 11: Farewell Friends.

More Information

Meals:

When you travel to the new place for your holiday, food is  the most concerned part of travel. While, traveling with Yarsa treks, you can experience the delightful cuisine of typical Nepali food, continental food, Italian food, Chinese food and different international cuisines. You will be suggested by your guide for good food during your trip. During the trek do not order many dishes and waste food as they have to cater to more trekkers before they run off stock. It is very hard and takes a week or more for caravan and porters to bring the food in these places. You will take lunch in route side, breakfast and dinner will be arranged in the same lodge/Tea house.

Drinking Water:

During the trek you can get the bottled water but it is hard to dispose plastic and it will be the big problem for environment. We will provide purified mineral water during trek. In tea houses you can get bottled water and mineral water in additional cost. It will be better to drink mineral water rather than bottled water.

Accommodations:

We provide you best touristic hotel in Kathmandu/Pokhara with best location. During the trek tea house is main accommodation for trekkers. A tea house is combination of lodge and restaurant. In the tea house lodges are fairly basic, in some tea houses you can get separate room but in the high altitude rooms are spared with two beds with blankets and little additional furniture.  There will be large dining room where you can get the warmth by Bukhara stove. In the tea houses there will be solar electricity but these days most of the tea houses have electricity for charging camera, mobile phones and other small appliances.

Things to take:

This is very active trip we can’t stay in same place. You can take very light and necessary things. You will get a porter who  will carry 30 kg which means 2 trekkers=1 porter. Porters are allowed to carry 30 kg of your stuff. Porters will carry your necessary stuff in a duffel bag.

Health & Fitness:

These treks are some of moderate and some of strenuous.Passionate trekkers should have ability to walk for 4-7 hours a day. Trekking to the high altitude is more challenging than the low altitude. To complete the trip we should have good health, average physical fitness, passion, confidence, determination and positive attitude. If you have past hiking experience or exercising habits it will be the better for your trek. If you have pre-existing health problems such as lungs, heart and other diseases, it is better to consult with your doctor or inform Yarsa treks before booking the trip.

Suitable Time to Trek:

For trekking to the high altitude we should concern about the weather condition. Autumn (Sept-Nov) and Spring (March-May) are the best seasons for trekking in Himalayas. Trekking in Summer and Monsoon (June-Aug) is affected by rain. You can also trek in winter but temperatures could be  harsher for most trekkers.

Important Notes:

If you’re confused to pack up your necessary things just see in the check list tab. Bring light and necessary things. You will need medium size bag to carry your daily usable stuff. The weather is subject to change in high altitude so layered clothing is recommended throughout the trek.

Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu (1,400 m).
Warmly welcome to International airport of Kathmandu. Upon your arrive we assist you to hotel. After rest and refreshed we will take you to dinner with typical Nepali cultural show and rest overnight.

Day 02: Fly or drive to Pokhara (884 m).
Today we drive or fly to Pokhara. If we drive to Pokhara it takes 5-6 hours and 25 min by flight. When we reach pokhara we will explore the local market and enjoy the magnificent evening view of Phewa lake. Prepare for tomorrow trekking and rest overnight.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (2,000 m).
Today we drive to Nayapul (42 km) and trek to Ghandruk through Birethanti. Our trail moves through the edge of Modi Khola and pass through several villages, forests and viewpoints. On the way we can see breath taking view of Fishtai, Annapurna (8091 m), Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and other peaks. Next we ascend to the Ghandruk which is cultural village of Gurung community. Explore cultural village and rest overnight.

Day 04: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,200 m).
Today our route heads to north of the village and descend in to green valley to cross suspension bridge of Kimrong Khola. After crossing bridge we ascend through rhododendron and oak forest. Next we reach to Chhomrong. If we got time we will explore around and rest overnight.

Day 05: Trek from Chhomorong to Deurali (3,200 m).
Today we move forward by crossing Chhomrong Khola and ascend to Sinuwa village. After passing Sinuwa village trail enters valley of Modi Khola and walk through dense forest to reach village of Bamboo. Next we pass through bamboo forest, Dovan and Himalayan hotel. Next 2 hours walk will brings us to Deurali (3200 m). Rest overnight.

Day 06: Trek from Deurali to ABC (4,130 m) via Machhapuchre Base Camp.
Today trail moves through steeps and rocky cliff. Next we reach flat path with the magnificent view of Hiunchuli and reach Machhapuchre base camp. We are very close to our destination, trail turns left from MBC and we will reach ABC. In ABC we are surrounded by Himalayan peaks such as Annapurna (8091 m), Hiunchuli (6441 m), Machhapuchre (6993 m), Gandarbachuli and other many peaks.

Day 07: Trek from ABC to Dovan (2,428 m).
After breath taking view of sunrise view from Annapurna base camp trail turn back and pass through rocky steeps. We descend all to Dovan through Deurali, Himalayan village and dense forest to reach inhibited village Dovan. Rest overnight

Day 08: Trek from Dovan to Landruk (1,850 m).
Today we start trail by descending to Chhomrong Khola and walk towards Sinuwa and move through dense forest of rhododendron and oak. Next we pass several villages and crosses Modi Khola. After crossing Modi khola trail ascend to Landruk village. Explore around and rest overnight.

Day 09: Trek from Landruk to Pokhara via Nayapul.
Today trail continue through steeply ascend to Deorali. From here we can get extended view of Annapurna (8091 m) Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and on the way we can see the beautiful view of Pokhara and Phewa Lake. Descend through forest and farmland of Pothana we will be in Dhumpas. Next short walk will take us to Phedi. In Phedi car/bus will be waiting for you to take Pokhara. Rest overnight.

Day 10: Fly or drive to Kathmandu.
We will drive to Pokhara through the edge of Trishuli River which is very famous for rafting in Nepal. Enjoy the last night of your trip and rest overnight in Kathmandu

Day 11: Farewell Friends.
Today yarsa treks will assist you to International airport. Before your departure there will be small farewell program.
