Sivapuri Hiking 1 Day

Shivapuri is most popular hiking in Nepal, which is ninth national park established in 2002. Hiking in Shivapuri National Park is one of the easy and adventurous hiking destination located near the capital city of Nepal. Shivapuri is second highest hill side near the Kathmandu valley. During the hike you can visit Baghdwar which is source of the holy river Bagmati; flowing nearby holy temple Pashupatinath. Shivapuri hike is famous for one day hiking to see the dense forest and wildlife within short period. Sivapuri National Park conserve more than 500 species. Shivapuri is one of the important source of drinking water in Kathmandu valley.  Helambu, Gosainkunda, Nagarkot and other trekking and hiking routes goes through Shivapuri National park.  Shivapuri Hiking is also important according to religious belief because some pilgrimage destination of Hindus and Buddhist lies inside the National Park. 

We drive 8 km from Thamel to Budhanilkantha for 20 minutes and visit Budhanilkantha temple. After visiting Budhanilkantha we will hike towards Shivapuri National Park. We will pass through check post of Nepal Army and ascend to Nagi Gompa (2,330 m). Gompa is famous for Nuns practice and meditation. We will take lunch during the hike and see the beautiful view of Kathmandu valley to the south and mountains view to the north. Next we will visit Baghdwar and descend to Sundarijal then drive back to Kathmandu.

Today After breakfast we drive to Budhanilkantha and visit the temple. After visiting temple we will trek to Shivapuri National Park and walk through dense forest. During the hike we can hear the voice of the different birds and animals. Shivapuri is famous for Barking deer, Leopards, Black Bears, Hunman Monkey, wild cats, 177 species of birds and other many wild species. After lunch we will visit Baghdwar and descend to Sundarijal, there will be the Bus/Car waiting for us. Drive back to Kathmandu. We end our service at 6 PM.

Breakfast: 6:30 AM

Sundarijal: 4 PM, Visit around Sundarijal
Kathmandu: 5:45 Drop you to Hotel.
